Charity Cycle Ride Brought More Than Just Entertainment To Celebrity Hungry Hoards

BT Bike RideIt was four years ago that Little Britain comedy genius David Walliams swam the English Channel to raise money for Sport Relief. This year the 35 year old teamed up with a host of other celebrities for the same cause on a 1,000 mile cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End. The which took place on March 1st hoped to raise £1m which will go to ‘help people living unimaginably tough lives’ both in the UK and around the world.

Joining Walliams were comedians Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard, Patrick Kielty and Miranda Hart plus famous female hosts Davina McCall and Fearne Cotton. The team faced more than just combating fatigue and the inevitable chaffing that comes with such a feat; they also had to learn to get along with each other on a journey that will pushed their energy levels and endurance.

It so happens that before  the event the group had never even been in a room together before. After witnessing the trials and tribulations that celebrity egos endure under pressure, it stands to reason that the BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride was set to be an entertaining event for us celebrity hungry hoards; and thankfully it results in the less fortunate getting some much needed support in the process. All in all the 82 hour ride raised in the region of £1,338,000.
