Lingadzi Academy
Our flagship: the largest community sports school in Malawi, on 22 acres in Lilongwe.
Named by the children who play there every day, Lingadzi Academy is a 22-acre site that is a place to learn, play and grow.
It is alive with activity.
Hundreds of young Malawians use the site daily for community activities, education, environment and sports.

It is home to:
- Ascent Soccer Academy
- Lingadzi Leadership Academy Secondary School (run by MSP Malawi)
- Lingadzi Academy Library (run by the National Library Service of Malawi)
- Five football pitches including Chilimampunga Ground
- Grace’s Netball Court
- Accommodation for 100 boarding students
Located in a thriving township of Mtandire in the west of the capital city Lilongwe it serves some of the poorest in the world.
The vision: Phase 1 and beyond
This is by far our most ambitious project — the first of its kind in Malawi. The site brings together primary and secondary school, top-quality sports facilities, a library and computer cluster, an agricultural development centre and a sports development centre, all on a single campus inside the city.
- Classrooms that are more spacious and naturally lit than the norm — better places to learn.
- A library block with a computer cluster for modern, digital skills.
- Football pitches, netball and volleyball courts, and space for athletics.
- A sports development centre training coaches to work across Lilongwe — spreading both sport and HIV/AIDS awareness.
- Income from lessons, coaching and facility hire, reinvested to keep the academy growing year on year.
- All built with innovative sustainable technologies such as earthbag construction and a bamboo grand hall.
A little goes a long way
Over the last 20 years as a charity we have slowly used the funds we raise (approx £10-20k per year) to buy land and develop the site in the west of the capital city of Lilongwe. Alongside this we have received sizeable donations (circa £100,000 each) to build each of the two schools. It is testament to doing a little bit over a long period of time.
The site serves thousands of young Malawians every day. And there is huge scope for the site to serve even more. We have all the foundations in place and a legacy of success. We just need more money to accelerate our progress.
Help us develop it. Every brick, ball and pound moves Lingadzi Academy forward. Donate now or come and build with us.
Be part of the next build.
Time, money or sports equipment — every contribution reaches the ground in Malawi.
